Intermittent heavy rattle, misfire and change in engine speed

Hello Everyone,

Usual thing - new to the forum and got a problem with a K11.

The engine lost power and misfired. when I looked at it, the two centre plugs had been left loose and the plug in number 2 cylinder had lost both the outer and inner electrodes. Number 3 plug had lost the outer electrode. The misfire was on number 2 cylinder and number 3 was still firing!

I put a magnet down the plug holes to see if I could retrieve any ferrous bits, but nothing came out. Did a compression check and...

Distributor cap and rotor arm

hiya all.
I recently brought a dizzy cap and rotor arm from a local motor factors but the car ran crap, missfiring at low revs and at idle. I took it back for a refund.
I really need a replacement so I looked at genuine Nissan parts which come out at £45 for the cap and £12 for the arm!!!!!!
Has anyone brought an aftermarket one which has worked fine? Where did you get it from? links would be much appreciated as I just can't justify the price for a genuine Nissan part

Hey peeps! Right I will get straight into it. I want to mod my Micra a little. I understand you can use an airbox from a N15 Primera? or Pulsar? This is where I want to start and I shall move down to the Manifold and eventually Exhaust.

I have been trying to find these air boxes since yesterday scouring the interwebs and I cannot find ANY!!!! Does someone know where I can get one? or do I need to go into a Nissan garage?

How do I go about installing one properly? is it just sort of a bolt...

im looking for pictures of your k11s with they're suspension set up and wheel fitment just so I can get an idea of what I'm looking for.

I'm going for 15" wheels so I have the option of a bigger brake upgrade when the time comes for it.

I also wanted to know people's opinions on the best handling suspension set ups, I know coilovers is the obvious but I'm not looking to spend the best part of a grand.

K11 radiator change

Hi everyone. Very quickly, I live in Italy at the moment and I need to change my radiator. My Micra is a 2002 02 reg 1.0 3 door. I've worked out its a K11c but I'm not sure about the radiator. There seem to be a few versions available but I want to change it myself and order the part online. It'll save me at least 100 Euros. Basically, they all have the same dimensions 380/359 but have different OE numbers. Does this matter? They seem to be the same as the K11 radiators and I assume this is...

Cold start problems

I have a 2002 1,0 Activ with 72000 miles. Recently the car wont start first time, I have to put my foot on the accelerator and turn the key two or three times. If I don't accelerate the car wont start no matter how many turns of the key. Once the car starts it runs fine, no idle problems or stalling however fuel consumption is crap averaging around 270 miles from full to into the red before light comes on. Also just had new clutch fitted (not that that should make any difference) but the...

Hi all, my better half picked up a cheap 2001 Micra last weekend, I've been giving it a once over trying to tidy it up a little and need a little help with a whining noise it's making. It sounds like it's coming from one of the two belts on the engine, but I'm not sure whether it's a belt that needs replacing, or something else. You can't always hear it and it doesn't seems to be speed related, but I have noticed the pitch changes a little when the revs go up (having said that the pitch doesn't...

K11 1.0 Ecu to 14 Ecu

Hi Lads/Gals

Does anyone know if its possible to swap the coilpack 1.0 ecu for the coilpack 1.4 ecu? What happens if i do it?

The other swap would be the injectors. Are they the same in those two engines? What happens if i swap them?

Hi Just wondering if theres anyone around here that does custom k11 inlets, or whether anything off another car would fit i'm using a cg13 in a mini. Any throttle body recommendations maybe forum posts or something just looking for a bit of inspiration or a semi off the shelf option. if i remember correctly i have less than 100mm at the nearest point form mating face on manifold to bulkhead.

barrel problems

hi guys, i have a 1.0 s with around 92k miles that i bought at 89k a few months ago. when i bought it it ran great with a first time start every time but weeks after i bought it it started getting temperamental when i started it.

what happens is that when i turn the key the engine starts fine and fires into life but when i release it there's a 50/50 chance it will turn off again along with all my dashboard lights, my radio and a very suspicious audible click. this leads me to believe that...

hi after talking to r-reg-sr had alittle chat and he said about frank boy running coilpack manifold sr20 injectors and running around 100bhp
i was woundering if anyone to expand to this how to do it
are these parts going to be a straight fit onto a 1.4 or 1.3 without alteration of anything
is there anything else needed to get a 1.4 or 1.3 to run 100bhp+-
or is there anyother way that cheeper or better to get 100bhp+- out this motor

i plan to do this car as a ongoing project so monnies are not...

Stall At Junction Low IDLE

Just checking as im sure this as a thread already. if i adjust the Idle Screw near the intake will this solve the Standard Idle when foot is on clutch fully and when not in gear just runing. any help appreciated cheers guys and girls

Nissan K11 gearbox

Ok I have a cg10de and I got the gearbox from an n15 pulsar. The cg10de clutch doesnt fit around the shaft. Is the inside of the cg13de bigger than the 10 ? And will the clutch just fit into the pressure plate ? Or do i have to replace the flywheel with clutch assembly ?

Engine install after rebuild + lots of questions

i installed the rebuilt 1.3 today and it seems to be running well apart from an oil leak from the crankshaft pulley seal.

Before the questions, the engine internals are stock apart from a 1mm head skim to raise the compression.

So I got it all warmed up and went for a spin then checked the timing with a strobe. It was at 0 degrees so I went to alter it and the max it would advance to was 10 degrees.

So I set it there and went out for a drive. I noticed it was pinking, so went home and set it...

Successful gearbox removal

I am feeling well happy after successfully removing the gearbox from my 1.0l '95 Micra.

After much researching on this amazing forum and studying the book of Haynes, I was able to extract my gearbox.

I did have some problems of stubborn bolts on the bottom of the bellhousing. When I thought I had removed all the bolts, the box would not budge until I realised I had missed a bolt attaching the rear engine mount. I did not appreciate this attached to the gearbox and had to be removed....

Bee*R Rev limiter wiring help

Recently purchased a Bee*R Rev limiter and Im needing a bit of help with wiring it in, @Scott.c (member on here) done a wiring diagram for a distributor type micra but I've got a post 2000 coilpack engine, so the ecu is completely different.

There's a choice of 4 wires; a red(12v supply) black (ground) a green one that goes to the crank angle sensor at 120' or 180' and a yellow one that goes to the crank angle sensor at 1'

I've looked on that Dropbox thing for the micra...
